GOOD DESIGN AWARD (G-Mark) is a prestigious international design award, which is not only the only comprehensive design evaluation and promotion mechanism in Japan, but also has high visibility and recognition worldwide. Since its inception in 1957, the GOOD DESIGN AWARD has been recognized for more than 60 years and continues to promote the improvement of people’s lives and society through design.

The GOOD DESIGN AWARD for 2024 received 5,773 entries from many countries around the world, with 1,579 winning. The entries went through a rigorous selection process of about six months and were finally selected.

The geographical scope of this year’s entries covers not only the whole of Japan, but also 22 countries. The jury is made up of experts from different fields who judge the design based on several criteria including innovation, practicality, aesthetics and sustainability.
